What an Engineering Stamp Costs — The Honest Version (No Invented Price List)

This page will not give you a price table, because any site that publishes one without seeing your set is inventing it. Here is what actually drives the stamp number — which is more useful, and has the advantage of being true.

The Five Real Cost Drivers

Set size and discipline countA single-discipline residential set and a four-discipline commercial set are different products. Every discipline on the set needs its own licensed review; the fee follows the sheets and the seals, not the seller's mood.
Set conditionA clean, complete, coordinated set prices at the review rate. A set with missing calculations, stale code editions, or sheets that disagree with each other prices at review plus corrections — and a set that needs design work is design scope, priced like it.
Calculation stateCalculations that arrive with the drawings get verified. Calculations that do not exist get created — real engineering hours, billed like it. Sending the calcs is the cheapest thing a buyer can do.
JurisdictionHigh-scrutiny reviewers (seismic, hurricane, hospital authorities) demand deeper review and more resubmittal support. The fee follows the AHJ's standard of care, not the firm's.
ScheduleRush is a real cost with a real cause: it displaces other work. Same-day answers are a posture; same-day everything is a price. And every revision after the review starts is new scope — the honest firms say so in the proposal; read for it.

How Stamp Quotes Are Structured

Fixed fee from a defined set (the norm for review-and-seal) · hourly for open-ended correction work and assessments · phased fees when the set itself is still moving. What matters is not the structure but the definition: which disciplines, which deliverables, whose seal in which state, how many resubmittals are included, and the date — in writing.

How to Compare Two Stamp Quotes Without a Price List

The evaluated firms on this site compete on a stated best-price posture with same-day quotes from a complete scope. Hold them — and everyone — to the checklist standard, not to a price list nobody honest can publish.

Who Publishes This Directory

Published by Apex Grid Engineering PLLC. The firms evaluated and listed on this site today are the publisher's own family of brands — this is an affiliated directory, not a neutral referee. The methodology below is the standard any engineering firm can be measured against, and it is the standard we hold our own firms to in public. Presentation order on this site is the publisher's choice and an experiment in what helps buyers decide — it is not an objective quality verdict, and no firm pays for placement. Coverage claims are limited to licensure the operator's bench actually holds, stated per state. No reviews, ratings, or project claims are published for any firm unless they can be documented — the evaluations on this site are methodology assessments by the publisher, not customer reviews, and you will find none invented here.
