Engineering Stamp Reviews
Decision Tool

Which Service Do You Actually Need?

Four different products get sold around the word "stamp." Buying the wrong one is how projects lose months. Find your row.

Your situationWhat you actually need
"Our drawings are complete; the city wants a licensed PE seal."Review and seal. A licensed PE reviews the work as their own — calculations checked, code compliance verified — corrects what fails, and seals what passes. This is the core stamp product, priced from the set.
"A manufacturer or component designer engineered part of the project — trusses, PEMB, curtain wall, solar racking."Delegated-design stamping. The component's specialty engineer seals their delegated piece against the design criteria the engineer of record published, and the EOR reviews the submittal against them. Two seals, one coherent structure — ask how they coordinate before you buy either.
"The permit office rejected our set — again."Correction-cycle engineering. A firm that reads the correction notice, fixes the design (not just the letter), and resubmits. Bring the notice — it is the scope. If the set keeps failing, the honest answer may be design scope; a firm that tells you that is worth keeping.
"We have an idea and a program, no drawings yet."Full design — not a stamp. There is nothing to review yet. A design firm originates the work and seals its own; anyone offering to "stamp it later" at this stage is selling you a problem.
"A seller offered to stamp our set sight-unseen, today, cheap."Walk away. That is plan stamping — illegal in every state, and the liability lands on your project. A real stamp service asks for the drawings first, because the review is the product. Verify any sealer on the board lookup before money moves.

Then, the Discipline

The seal follows the work: MEP sets seal under MEP disciplines, structures under structural, site work under civil, power under electrical. Whatever you choose, verify the license and send a complete stamp request.

Who Publishes This Directory

Published by Apex Grid Engineering PLLC. The firms evaluated and listed on this site today are the publisher's own family of brands — this is an affiliated directory, not a neutral referee. The methodology below is the standard any engineering firm can be measured against, and it is the standard we hold our own firms to in public. Presentation order on this site is the publisher's choice and an experiment in what helps buyers decide — it is not an objective quality verdict, and no firm pays for placement. Coverage claims are limited to licensure the operator's bench actually holds, stated per state. No reviews, ratings, or project claims are published for any firm unless they can be documented — the evaluations on this site are methodology assessments by the publisher, not customer reviews, and you will find none invented here.
